Is Lionel Messi the New Maradona?

Lionel Messi is undoubtedly one of the most skillful and talented soccer players that Argentina has ever had. Having a small and short body, he is often compared to the Argentinian superstar legend, Diego Armando Maradona. Many people even think that he is the new Diego Maradona. In many aspects, he has a lot of things in common with Diego Maradona. Just like Maradona, Messi is a left-footed soccer player and he has quick feet and great speed. In spite of all similarities, I personally think that Lionel Messi is not the new Maradona. These are my reasons why I come up with that opinion.

First, Lionel Messi plays for one of the big soccer clubs in Europe, Barcelona FC. Having a lot of teammates with great talents and skills, He can boost his utmost potential. Xavi Hernandez, Dani Alves and Andres Iniesta are some of great names in the team. Together with them, he can perform well and score a lot goals. In short, he is a star among the stars. On the other hand, Maradona only played for SSC Napoli in Italy. Napoli was only a mediocre club when he arrived in 1984. However, He could bring the club to the top flight of Italian soccer and finally won scudetto, Italian soccer champion, twice in 1987 and 1990.

Next, Messi plays his soccer in Spain where defence is somewhat less solid than that in Italy. Spanish soccer focuses more on attack than defence. As a result, there is more space at the back that a player can exploit to create chances. So, for a quick and skillful player like Messi, Spanish  soccer is a heaven. On the contrary, Maradona played his soccer in Italy where he had to break through a solid defence called catenaccio, a tactical system with an emphasis on defence. This system makes it hard for strikers or midfielders to have space and score goals, but somehow Maradona could still find the gaps to pass the ball or score goals.

In short, Although Lionel Messi has a lot of similarities to Diego Maradona, he is not the new Maradona. At least, he still has a lot to prove that he is the successor of the superstar legend.

Indonesia can be as successful as China

Indonesia and China are two countries that have had a good relationship for a long time. However, China and Indonesia are very different. While China is a superior country, Indonesia is still a developing country. Nevertheless, I believe that someday Indonesia can be as successful as China and I have a few reasons to support that.

First of all, Indonesia has many natural resources and I think all of you know about that. The only thing the government should do is preventing other countries from taking advantage of our resources. Instead, Indonesian people can try to invest their money in a foreign company like what Trans Corp. do. They buy half of the Carrefour share and it makes them become the owner of Carrefour in Indonesia.

Second, many Indonesian people are proven genius and good at their fields, for example, Habibie. The only thing the government should do is giving them support and reward for their work. As a result, they can start to invest something that is useful for their country.

Third, Indonesia had such a glorious history that Indonesian people could learn something from it. They can use it as a motivation to make Indonesia become a successful country in the future.

Fourth, Indonesian government has already taken a step to get rid of corruption. Why don't we help the government to strengthen the law in our country? If Indonesia is free from corruption, I think the government can provide more facilities for their citizens and give more helps to the needy since the amount of money corrupt is decreasing.

To conclude, Indonesia can be as successful as China as long as the government and the people can take the right ways.

Money is not everything

In modern life, money is a powerful thing in the world because almost all the things we have are bought by money. Sometimes we forget about the other things in our life although they are also very important. Actually, there are many things more important than money.

First of all, our health is more important than money. Do you know how much money we have to spend if we go to hospital to cure our illness? It is expensive, right? So, our health is more important. If we are sick, we can't go to the mall for shopping or we can't travel to Singapore or Hongkong, right?

The second is our family. Sometimes money can change ourselves. If we have a lot of money, we will go to the mall for shopping and consequently, we will forget our family. This happens very often to a mother. A mother should take care of her children like feeding them or making a glass of milk every morning and evening. If she often goes to the mall, who will take care of her children? Maybe her children will get sick because there is no food at home. So, money can turn us into a bad person.

To conclude, there are many other things more important than money, such as our health and our family. We have to control ourselves if we have a lot of money and we should never think that money is everything.
